nonconformist 0 Posted May 2, 2022 Hi guys, NYCer here joining the forum. NYC Rifle/Shotgun and Handgun permits still pending. I applied for a non-resident NJFID through NJSP and the FID was just approved yesterday but I noticed that my apartment number was missing. At first, I thought it was a mistake but saw from my saved documents that my initial submission never had my apt number either. I then went into the FARS system again and selected change of address and noticed that the residential address section doesn't have an Apt # field, just Street#/Street Name (which I now suspect I took street name too literally). Do I contact my NJSP investigator for additional instructions?
Mr.Stu 1,916 Posted May 2, 2022 You might get lucky if you call the NJSP FIU, but most likely you'll have to submit the change of address through FARS and basically do the whole process again except for the fingerprinting.
nonconformist 0 Posted May 2, 2022 Do they redo the mental records check? I believe that was the longest part of the process as the waiver and files were mailed to and from Albany. Is there a direct line to the FIU?
Mr.Stu 1,916 Posted May 2, 2022 Call the main number in Trenton and ask the operator for the Firearms Unit: 609-882-2000 Or email them: [email protected] If you have to go through the process again, I believe they do run the mental health check again.
