JohnnyB 4,323 Posted June 14, 2022 I have an original Colt 1860 Army, all matching #s. Made in January 1862. Not in bad shape for 160 years old. Bore is clean with sharp rifling. Anyone know the value of this? See pics belo. @CAL. .30 M1 @GRIZ

Displaced Texan 11,731 Posted June 14, 2022 I don’t know the value, but it’s damn nice!
JohnnyB 4,323 Posted June 14, 2022 I checked the serial # with Colt and the description from colt matches the gun except Colt says there was a naval battle scene engraved on the cylinder. Their cylinder engravings were not very deep but upon a closer look, I can see some the engraving though 95% has been polished away throughout the years. The gun is 100% Colt with all matching parts. CAL. .30 M1 2,101 Posted June 14, 2022 If those are ivory grips..along could be multiple hundreds....without a deep dive, going on a limb and saying in the condition it appears to be .....hmm What's the provenace on the gun?

CAL. .30 M1 2,101 Posted June 14, 2022 Well it is non matching...the cylinder is not to that pistol..the last digits don't match the serial.. check the wedge and arbor for the frame serials as well.... Most of the finish is gone... gotta check the cylinders to ensure they are solid and not rusted through....nipple rusted in? Going on a limb and say about a grand....but I am not an expert in old Colts...

GRIZ 3,369 Posted June 15, 2022 @JohnnyB I really don't know. I looked on some sites and asking price was $2500-5000. Whatever you do DON'T CLEAN IT UP. Original finish is everything.
B Gem 23 Posted October 31, 2022 Has your B-I-L had the grips off? Sometimes there is a name of a previous owner or more markings. Just a thought, I always loved those old Colts. Mis-matched numbers current condition, a quick guess a thousand as some else mentioned. Horse Solider in Gettsyburg Pa may have some in their inventory since they specialize in antique firearms such as this one.
