After I submit my packet to NJSP Woodbine including the qual cert I received this morning from Shooters, and after my new OWB holster that I ordered to replace the unworkable IWB version I first tried to qualify with arrives, I'm actually considering going back to FMJ to try to finish my qual there. After what I previously wrote about that experience, why would I do that? Several reasons:
I paid $295 for the NRA-endorsed course including the qualification, and I can't get a completion certificate for only the classroom work - it's all or diddly-squat.
In the last communication I had with the instructor, he said he was now willing to make accommodations for my 5-shot revolver.
If for some reason my carry permit application were to be rejected because the course of fire at Shooters was deemed inadequate, I would (assuming I passed the FMJ qual) have a more rigorous certification in hand and ready to go. I realize rejection for that reason is highly unlikely, but this is NJ...
I'm quite stubborn and hate to leave something of that nature unfinished.
None of that means I have changed my mind about my previous experience with the instructor at all; none of it means I'm willing to fork one more dime over to him or FMJ, but I may just try to complete it anyway. It seems like a no-lose (other than another few hours of my time) proposition to me. The first time I think he isn't being fair or honest with me, I can just walk away.
he presided over my child support case , big time douchebag! He actually didn't want my child's mother dropping it and tried saying did I threaten her and why is she doing this...
