What training is acceptable? Instructions from Monroe Twp, NJ merely say "Written qualification must be within six (6) months of application and include Instructors Name"... I think this is really a bogus requirement. I think NJ can reject applicants by saying the training is insufficient. The qualifyin schools, such as www.shootingclasses.com ... seem to have a variety of courses. In summary, how do we know exactly what school and cert would qualify for a CCW permit? Thanks

As a gun owner in New Jersey I understand the mess of laws in the state. Now that I own milsurps I'm curious is it lawful to own bayonets not carry just own (of course). If it's legal what about taking them to the range for a photoshoot. Lastly I have a question about carrying a knife mostly as a tool of course I have a Swiss knife and I used that is my tool normally and for my understanding it's under the lawful purpose clause or whatever. I was thinking about getting 3.25 in pocket knife foldable blade not assisted in any way I assume lawful I don't know if anyone's had trouble with carrying knives New Jersey other than the few court cases that's still left the wall kind of vague like New Jersey likes it. I'll probably keep carrying the Swiss pocket knife but I find that the blade may be weak for some things but I do like it's simplistic size mostly everything I would probably need for my basic lifestyle. I'm sure carrying a knife has been debated a lot in this forum before but I haven't seen anything so if you have any links or just want to give me the simple rundown I'm fine with that.

My father passed away a few years ago, I had an incident having to do with domestic violence in which they confiscated all firearms at my home (not mine). However it has been resolved and I was not at fault and neither were the parties of the aforementioned firearms.
Question is, these two firearms are still in the possession of my local police department - how ever the owner of the firearms is no longer with us, what’s the route to take with that situation? I assume I can get a firearms license and take them but what if I don’t currently hold one? How does this property change hands? Do they destroy it and pay me? I’m just unsure.
The two firearms in question are a glock 36 and a 357.
This is of course in NJ, lol.

Hi Guys,
I found that information about New Jersey's shooting ranges was scattered (if even available) for the various public/private places we shoot at. Please lend me a hand by shooting me a PM with what range(s) you shoot at, and fill in as much of the information as you can below. You can use the blank one at the end to cut and paste into a PM (or a post on this thread) and I will update this post accordingly.
Thanks for your help, and hopefully we can create a single source of information for all the ranges in NJ.

Trying to answer a question for a relative living in NY.
Can a NY state resident who lives 100 % of his time in NY state and does possess a NJ FID card (with a NY address) purchase from an FFL in NJ. Drivers license is also NY state. My guess is he could but it would need to be shipped to an FFL in NY.
Thanks

Howdy folks. It's about time we get together to turn some money into noise. Come join us 6-11-23 at the Clinton WMA shotgun range for a morning of clay busting fun. Shooting commences at 0900 and keeps going until we get bored, run out of ammo, or hear mom calling us home. Shoots usually go until about 1300, leaving plenty of time for everyone to stop in at any time and join the party. As always, these clay shoots are informal gatherings, just plain old fun to promote clay sports and encourage training, please feel free to bring friends and family. Shooters of all experience are welcome, if you have never shot clays before, or want some tips on improving your skills, this is your chance to dust off that shotgun you bought years ago and gain some needed experience. What you will need. Bring your shotgun(s), as much #7.5 or #8 lead target/field loads as you want to shoot, and depending on how much you want to shoot, a carton of clay pigeons would be great. Targets are usually available at Walmart in Clinton, Flemington, and Phillipsburg. Don't forget eyes and ears. Also recommended is a chair, sun screen, insect repellent, and something to drink. There is a port-a-potty on site If you don't have a shotgun and just want to see what clay shoot'n is all about, a loaner pump action will be available. Basic Checklist Shotgun Ammo Eye and ear protection (mandatory) Clay targets (optional but recommended for volume shooters) Shell pouch (optional) Folding chair (optional) Water or whatever Clinton WMA Shotgun Range 26 New Jersey 173 Hampton, NJ 08827 Attending: 1. Scorpio (thrower clays and a loaner shotgun) 2. Krdshrk, definite possible maybe 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

I had one in the early 2000's and then it became an issued holster for me. No one I knew had any issues with the SERPA. That being said, there are many better options now.
