Med/IFAK kit for range bag?

Recommended Posts

What are you trained on and what do you want to be able to treat?

Are you looking for band-aids and Tylenol or quick clot and tourniquets?

Depending on what you are looking for -you can spend a lot more than $75 and still need more.

My first stop for anything Medical supply related is:

I’m sure you’ll find something there to suit your needs and price range.

Prior EMT-B training, mainly wanted a "stop the bleed" type kit with TQ.

Ended up ordering this - will supplement it with some other supplies I have:

Looks like a good kit. What are you planning on adding - I have a few things that I like to use (SOFTT-W, Oales, QuickClot) and would augment that kit as well. Curious what you prefer.

Personally, I don’t like keeping my boo-boo kit (band aids and tummy medicine) in with my trauma/bleeder stuff, but if the kit is big enough and packaged appropriately, it’s not a big deal.

Depending on your range bag, that may be bigger than you want.

I got an IFAK from Rescue Essentials and like it.  Came with pretty much everything I wanted and nothing I did not want.  Here is one for $73.

CBP IFAK 2 (Black) (rescue-essentials.com)

That’s almost what I issue my cops for an IFAK. I make a couple substitutions (SOFTT-W instead of the CAT, and an Oales instead of the gauze and bandage. But it’s a good start and the right size for a range bag.
