You get so much for your money with the Primary Arms products, I can't recommend them enough for someone on a budget.

What I can attest to with Primary Arms is they have great customer service & warranty. I bought their Aimpoint replica years ago, I had a hard time getting a good zero from it and it actually broke through adjusting it too much to find a good zero. I emailed them, they sent me a free shipping label & they gave me a full refund no questions asked. I would buy from them again if I needed to, but I ended up buying an EOTech to replace it with.

Primary Arms is legit.  In 2010 I would be like, NO CHINESE OPTICS!  But they have stepped up their game.  Granted, they also upped their pricing but it's still great value.

Primary Arms scopes and O-Light flashlights, both I would use on a defensive rifle.

I have a PA optic on my 308.. its really good IMO.. I mean I am sure it doesn't compare to some of the absurd glass that is out there.. but from my experience.. it works just fine..

Swapped out the EOTech for the MRO, looks sleek, let’s hope it performs well

Which side charging upper is that?

ASA - American Spirit Arms

It needs a special bolt carrier, or you can machine your own like I did, but I'm really happy with it.

Some more info from my build...

Rifle has a few different parts on it now, ergo grip, troy sights...

I went to the gun shop yesterday to buy a cheap AR to modify, ended up with a modestly priced AR-10 :)

Details man! Details!

I got the Windham Weaponry .308 16", after uncle sam's cut and my permission to the NJSP it was $1580 out the door. I've been wanting to get a .308 rifle for a bit, and since we don't know what the hell is going to happen in this state with our "assault" weapons there's no better time than now to buy one I suppose. I've had my eye on a few of them in similar price range that i've seen online, never heard of many of these companies, but I was able to see one in person at my local gun shop and put my hands on it. Windham's a pretty good company and for the price I can't complain.

I don't plan on shooting it anytime soon but plan to change out some things, I want the Magpul MOE+ stock, not a fan of that one that is on it along with a MOE+ pistol grip. Then I'll find a piece of glass to put on it and we'll see how she shoots :)

FYI, NICS has been backlogged again. I went in to buy this friday night at 5pm and couldn’t pick it up until 1pm saturday. It’s the longest i’ve ever waited for a NICS check. I guess that’s what a liberal governor will do to the gun community. Every gun shop I’ve talked to lately has said they can’t keep AR’s or AK’s in stock

Finally built my first AR today.

d7Bp8oe.jpg

QrtwGak.jpg

- Stag Lower - Andover Hunt and Fish - $99.99 + Tax/Nics = 120.56

- Complete Upper w/ BCG and Charging Handle - http://www.wisearms.com - $274.98

- Bravo Company Buffer Assembly - http://www.bravocompanyusa.com - $57.95

- Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock - http://www.amazon.com - $32.96

- VG6 Precision Gamma 556 EX - http://www.graniteridgeoutfitters.com - $54.39

- Hogue Grip - Free.

- LPK/Trigger - Free.

- Flambeau Tactical Case - http://www.amazon.com $37.19

- Hexmag 15/30 Magazines x2 - http://www.sportsmansguide.com - $21.58

I had ordered parts over a period of a few months. My first build was 100% a "budget build". I haven't completely priced everything out yet but it should be just around $600. 16" barrel plus the brake, OAL of rifle comes to just shy of 34.5". I'll update the post with the prices for each shortly.

UPDATED - All pricing is now included. Total build was $599.62 including case and mags. It came to $540.85 for the rifle itself.

check out a site like DVOR or even Amazon you can get a nice set of BUIS on there for cheap sometimes. For an optic don't go cheap. A great optic and a good trigger can make any rifle great. I highly recommend the Trijicon MRO if you're looking for a Red Dot. It's on the lower end of costs for a quality optic. If you want a scope, go with a Nikon if you don't want to spend crazy money but a good quality scope.

For now I have Ozark Armament Flip Up Backup Iron Sights. I'll try to find where I got them...they were cheap. Optic will be sometime in the future. Thank man!

infamous...when you bought your upper did you find one without a flash hider or did you have the shop swipe it out for a break?  I have slower that’s sitting all alone and have been searching for a complete upper but always get “iffy” that they’ll send me a non compliant one

I called in to the owner and asked him to send it without the flash hider. He even gave me a $10 discount! I'm pretty sure it's a small operation. The owner is Tim who is super nice and easy to deal with. I ordered it on a Wednesday early evening, he shipped it Friday and I got it the Tuesday after I think.

I always get them non compliant. I have a whole bunch of useless A2 flash hiders. I think I'm going to make them into keychains. Lol.

Finally built the NJGF lower huh?
Yep. Been looking at it for a long time sitting in the safe. I still have 3 or 4 more stripped lowers in there. That was the first one I grabbed lol.
