Just curious, but I notice that in a lot of these pictures that people have their stocks extended all the way out. I assume that they're pinned that way too. Isn't the ideal setting for an AR to be able to comfortably shoot NTCH? With stock extended like that it would be tough to shoot NTCH, as you'd have to force your neck to crane way out. I'm not saying that there's only one way to do it... Whats good for one might not be for the next person. Just putting the question out there to get people's thoughts on it.

Different builds, different technique.

 

I'm tall. If I shoot a bladed stance I can do nose to charging handle with a stock about 3" longer than an a2.

 

With a more squared off stance, an a1 size works perfect for me.

Its just an extra saddle I had laying around from my mini 14. I just took the bottom strap off. I gotta find one that's made for it. It does fit the stubby pmags great though.

My project is getting there. The only things remaining are the upper, CH, and magazines. I am waiting until I move to SC in July to purchase the BCM upper I want and pick up some mags.

 

 

I have the Magpul MIAD grip and I notice a little play in the fitment. The curve doesn't seem to fit exact and there's a bit of wiggle if I force it even though its screwed down tight. Unless I didn't fit it right. Anyone else notice this?

I have something similar with my magpul grips. I tightened the screw all the way down and has a slight gap but no wiggle at all.

This is my Stag model 2L. Real basic as I don't have the funds to upgrade it.

I want to get a EOTech red dot with the 3X magnifier but that's expensive. Other than that, she's going to look pretty much stock. I have added a hogue grip (updated photo coming tomorrow) which feels so much better than the hard plastic grip that came with it.
