AR pics, lets see'um!

Recommended Posts

I put one on my Stag a few weeks ago and haven't gotten a chance to test it out yet, but I was a little concerned since it was a tight fir putting it on.  At least I know it won't move.

generally if it is tight I dont worry as much as if it is loose.. lol

Very Cool!

FF rifle is next on the list

can you give some specs?

Nothing special on the specs.  Wanted to keep in the $700 budget.  Went with Spikes lower and psa lower parts kit.  Most of the upper are off ebay, Palmetto, and midway.  I'll put a complete list shortly.

if you want to give your support hand a little more room.. you can drill three tiny holes to accommodate that front sling point... I did it to my AR when I was running that hand guard and liked the extra room I got out of it..

Thanks,

I Recall HE writing he'd done this as well, had a little trouble visualizing..looks like a big improvement!

I'm SLOWLY trying to figure out sling preferences, haven't had a lot of opportunity to "run" it with the sling.

Photography tips are always welcome too Vlad.

As always, beautiful pic.

the idea for me to having the front point mounted far back is so when I am working the gun I am not running into interference on the sling...

additionally when I transition to sidearm the sling comes under my support hand and straight to the gun VS going further down towards the muzzle end.. I find it keeps the gun more secure to the body..

as for photography.. I am a hack at best.. background is key IMO.. if you get a background that the gun stands out against it really shows off the gun... something interesting.. industrial... in other words light grey concrete with the right lighting looks better than your kitchen counter... lol.. get good lighting.. natural outdoor light works well..  and pick points of focus on the gun... showing the whole gun in one frame is difficult so if you are taking pictures for the interwebs keep in mind the amount of real estate you have in a browser... angle the gun a little so you get a square VS a long thin rectangle..

post picture you want to use some light editing.. normally contrast and or brightness adjustment..

I have a habit of over processing my pictures.. its just how I am..

camera helps a lot... I was shooting with a DSL but it died.. thats why I have not had new pics in forever..

but even with a camera phone you can shoot decent pics

this is just with an Iphone 4

Nice , Now we need a range report.   :)

Quick range report.  I was scared to fire the first round, but it fired!  About 120+ rounds with 2-3 failure to feed.  Other than I need more time to zero in the sites, overall worked great today at Range14.

Rethinking my original ar a bit. Gonna see what kind of accuracy I can get out of it.

Obviously not finished. Gonna decide between the buis or 45° RDS. Don't think I need the vfg either. Going to mount my new p223 4-12x40 in a qd pepr once it gets here. I'm liking the moe rifle stock, just needs the qd cup.
