i'm watching/listening to this video of a fatal bonanza crash. i've been watching more of these, 'cause if i can get things settled with mom, i'm gonna start getting back up in the air....if i can afford it.

anyway, listening to this, i almost wanna think that this pilot shoulda 1) decided to RTB when he wasn't getting the climb he expected. 2) since he didn't do #1, then at the point where atc asks him if he wants to declare an emergency, he should have done just that. i feel those extra few minutes would quite probably have saved his life.
