Doc,

Just hang out a little while. There are quite a few hardcore milsurp guys here. The threads tend to get a bit spread out, but there's plenty of knowledge and passion for "wood and steel". Don't worry, you'll find enough company here to share with.

USNMars is our c&r specialist

Richiedubs is the fondler, he touches every single one he can get his hands on

Then you have guys like me, Malsua and a couple others who are trying to find their first milsurp.

I also believe Dan (djg....) has atleast one milsurp if not two.

Oh also Mauser98 I believe is his name has a lot of information on milsurps along with rscalzo or something like that im terrible with SN's

I have one, a M/N M44 - it's like a bad love affair. I fondle her and she still kicks me in the shoulder every chance she gets.

I like the old wood and steel. I'm working on saving the $$ for an SKS, and then I may go for a Garand.

I haven't found the love yet of the 'black rifles', but time will tell.

Truer words have never been spoken.

ROFLMAO! Hey Richie, I am offshore right now but when I get home in a week and a half we gotta meet up again. I am currently pursuing an original 1903A4 sniper that will need to be re-broken in.

They have always been my favorite. They were all pretty cheap too before the movie Saving Private Ryan.

After the movie premiered lots more people got interested in them and the prices started to raise greatly. Gone are the days of the $350.00 1903A3's and $300.00 K98's. Sigh.

That aint the only thing that movie made sky rocket.I think Band of Brothers help contribute to the collecting problem. They both caused the price of everything WW2 to go up. It made the vehicle prices sky rocket. I passed on a nice restored Kettenkrad for $30k back around 2000. Now they are around $120k. Bot I wish I would have brought it now. So now I got 3 Wartime BMW sidecar rigs instead.
