What ammo do you keep loaded for home defense.

My Mother: "It would behoove you to make use of the facilities prior to our departure as we are under considerable time restraints and will not be able to make any stops once in route" - Word for word actual quote from when I was 8

Behoove: My moms favorite word!

No biggie on the run-ons, as I have the same problem.

It is what it is.

I'm glad you didn't take offense to what I said, as none was meant. It was really meant to be some constructive advice.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I have Hornady Critical Defense 9mm loaded in my pistol, and Hornady Critical Defense 00 Buckshot loaded in my 12ga.

I loaded some Cor-Bon 45 Auto +P JHP in the .45. It has the highest ft. lbs. of any ammo I've purchased to date at 543, with a knockdown factor of 400 and a Hatcher rating of about 60.

I carry Hornady Critical Defense in the 9mm.

Hornady Critical Defense 9mm 115gr... Seems like a popular choice here..

Hornady is top notch, can't really do much better. Although Speer and Federal is up there as well.

Can't go wrong with any major ammo maker though.
