WWII in HD starting Sunday

WWII in HD is a five night event starting Sunday at 9PM EST on History Channel. There will be never before seen footage, all of it remastered in HD quality. This is unprecedented because most footage that has come out of the era wasn't the best... but this will change how we remember the grandest of the wars.

It looks quite amazing.

 

And in 2010, HBO will have a miniseries, "The Pacific." Similar in concept of Band of Brothers (screaming eagles!)...

Although I can't stand Hanks and Spielsberg's politics I have to give them a lot of credit for doing Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Maybe someday they will do something that shows Vietnam Vets weren't a bunch of baby killers and war criminals.
