PeteF 1,044 Posted November 28, 2009 I shoot 9 and 40 on a regular basis. I use a LNL progressive press. While switching between the 2 calibers is not a big deal, it does take some time to get everything checked out after change over. SO my question is how many rounds do you guys run at a time. I am finding that my breakpoint is ~200 a time.
tony357 386 Posted November 28, 2009 I will do 500 per calibre, may not be all in one night but usualy 500 before calibre change... I have just done 250 lwc in 44 mag and also 200 fn in 44 for the desert eagle and now i am going to do 100 xtp's 44 mags.
Guest Posted November 28, 2009 single stage rcbs , 50 - 100 rds. -
tbtrout 141 Posted November 28, 2009 I do not switch calibers until I have done at least 500, most of the time it is 1000 for pistols. For rifles I batch load in 50's I should add pistol is done on a progressive and rifle on a single stage.
rscalzo 3 Posted November 29, 2009 It depends if it is a load I've tested and know it to be accurate and functions properly in my handguns. If it is a new load, rarely more than 50. Something as simple as the OAL can really screw up proper functioning. You really don't want 500 or 1000 rounds of ammo that doesn't work.
Mauser88 0 Posted November 29, 2009 Can't help you. I've been reloading on a RCBS single stage press since 1982. I can load one round or 100 at a time. It's no big deal to make a change.
Sigman 41 Posted November 29, 2009 I'm also using a RCBS single stage press so I normally do 50 - 100 at a time. My cases are expanded and primed ready to go. I keep about 500 cases ready to go.
unclenunzie 3 Posted November 29, 2009 Lee challenger kit, I make 100 handgun rounds usually. Just finished a batch of .380 acp this morning. Sometimes I'll just prime cases so there's always several hundred available. unclenunzie
XDJohnTact 49 Posted November 30, 2009 I usually reload 200-300 per session.
