Pocket Holsters

Anyone used a pocket holster?

 

On impulse, I bought one of these for $10.

I was looking at those "Mika pocket holsters" but he had a long delay on making them.

 

I need to get a good CCW holster for my trips to Ohio and noted that the S&W 638 fits nicely into my front pants pocket anyway. This one is open trigger, but I have good trigger discipline so that doesn't bother me. Shrug. For $14 shipped, it was worth it just to see why I might not like it.

 

I see lots of various ankle holsters but no experience with those. My only experience with holsters was open carry "cowboy" style holsters that I used while hunting when I lived there.

 

I'd like to try some IWB holsters because I'm not going to drop $80+ just to find something that's a POS.

 

There are too many options, maybe I should get into the holster business.

I have never used one but I have heard the Mika is a second to none holster. Go over to Glocktalk and search them those guys seem to like them.

Looks nice. Am I the only one that doesn't feel comfortable with the idea of pocket carrying. Don't like the idea that its not attached to you. Maybe I'm just paranoid of losing crap :oops:

Doesn't bother me in the slightest but then I'm not running around and jumping. Of course, I've only ever open carried on the hip, I may change my mind.

I use a pocket holster for my S&W CS9 sometimes, mainly to break up the outline of the pistol. Only problem I've had is, at times, the holster comes out with the gun. Placing the off hand over the pocket usually helps.

If you're fond of Kydex, Try a Pocket Rocket by Kytac Holsters. I've been using Kytac holsters for years.

I picked up the desantis pocket holster for my LCR and it is sweet! 17 bucks out the door and it fits all J-frame S&Ws, taurus 85s, and charter arms revolvers. When using the LCR in the rig, the gun pops out so easily and reholstering is like butta!

I have a DeSantis Nemesis for my LCP and I love it. But I don't think I'd want a larger firearm in my pocket.
