It's not very difficult, just take your time with the cutting wheel and you may have to weld in some small plates inside the receiver on either side of the mag well to keep the wobble down since Romanians are all single stack when imported there are no dimples.

You can actually cut the shims and then use JB weld to hold them in, a lot of guy's do it and it holds for life.

Do your best not to weld you will burn the finnish off do what HODGIE said " slow "

Yeah,

welding will damage the finish, it would be minimal since it will be tig welded but a blue repair would be needed.

Tig is awsome!!! An inverter tig like a dynasty 200 dx would be nicer

since I do alot of aluminium but the 250dx does ok for now...

 

If gun is painted I'd tig and just repaint it..just my .02

WASR's aren't pretty to start with so it's no biggie....

Have fun with it! Took me about 4 - 6 hours of dremmeling. Wear a good pair of gloves. The shavings are not something to desire when they are all splintered in your hands.

 

The worst part is getting to those tabs on the inside. :x
