maideneddie 35 Posted February 17, 2010 Can anyone recommend a good pair of gloves for cold weather shooting? Something that will be warm, able to hold up to loading magazines, yet thin enough to handle ammo comfortably.

kenw 293 Posted February 17, 2010 I use glittens. Started wearing them for photography in the cold weather, and just made sense to use them for shooting. I've gone through a couple of pairs over the years, but they're cheap and work well. http://www.amazon.com/Convertible-Mittens-Gloves-Shipping-orders/dp/B001M9BSJK/ref=pd_sbs_a_6
bbk 188 Posted February 17, 2010 If you know anybody with access to a PX or something, get wool liners. Uscav has them too: http://uscav.com/Productinfo.aspx?produ ... &CatID=
aggopian 0 Posted February 17, 2010 my 2c http://www.mechanix.com/tactical/the-or ... yote-glove they also make a cold weather gloves http://www.mechanix.com/automotive/cold-weather-glove and if you're looking for fingerless try this http://www.mechanix.com/hardware/cg-framer-glove I wear the "Originals" for yard work, shooting in all weather and riding my motorcycle. I think they're long wearing, they fit the hand very well and are a bargain IMHO.

AtlanticCounty 0 Posted February 17, 2010 don't know how much your looking to spend but these gloves are great, thick leather that still gives you the ability to load magazines and do everything you normally do without gloves (and keep you warm too). Its worth the $40 in my opinion. http://www.opticsplanet.net/blackhawk-h ... loves.html whole list of gloves here: http://www.opticsplanet.com/s/gloves/brand~bw_pqr~knee
Caine 147 Posted February 17, 2010 http://www.mechanix.com/tactical/the-or ... yote-glove I just picked up a set of those a couple weeks ago for shooting when it's chilly out - haven't had a chance to try them out yet tho
tbtrout 141 Posted February 17, 2010 Depending on how you feel the cold, Nomex gloves work well.
Old School 611 Posted February 17, 2010 Cold fingers and firearms aren't the safest thing in the world. That being said, You girls be careful with gloves and handling firearms in cold weather. Really, pocket warmers or gloves on then off are more preferable. Kimber got a nice pair of shooting specific gloves a Dunkleburger's, can even load mags with them but they are not real warm. She wears them for grip.
