Double check with your police station, mine only charged me 18 dollars for two permits and I'm finally picking them up tomorrow.

They might as well renew my clearance with another SSBI with how long I've been waiting... ugh.

In Fanwood, my last pistol purchase permit cost me just $2.

 

This time, around 2 weeks ago, I submitted my form (STS-033 from the NJSP website, nice interactive PDF form), and Sgt Jedic told me to keep the $2, and he would call me.

 

Last week, he called and left a message that I need the $2, an $18 money order, and another form.

 

So, I guess the process has changed between my permits, or maybe they did it wrong last time.

 

What form (BG check form?) goes along with the $18, and is that available online?

Well, yes. And then when we moved, presumably because we were a week or so out of the 90-day address change window.

 

(That was a pain in the ass because they took the old cards and it took 6 weeks for the new ones to show up. OTOH, they're not marked duplicate; and the paperwork errors from the previous set are cleaned up)
