djg0770 481 Posted March 8, 2010 Gentlemen, I'm looking for a leather belt with a non-metallic buckle. I have checked the "airport friendly" belts which seem universally to be a cheap nylon belt with an equally inexpensive looking buckle. I need a bit more support/quality that what appears to be offered. Ideas?
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted March 8, 2010 thewilderness makes some good belts, but they are the "instructor" type belts and non leather .

Supposedly, for when an instructor is doing stuff on a repelling course, they can tie in with a safety rope, or it can act as an emergency harness. Caine 147 Posted March 8, 2010 I have one of the 5-stitch "original instructor" models that I use for gun classes, and they're great! The also make the "frequent flyer" model which uses a delrin buckle instead of the steel v-ring buckle they normally use.

SIGInst 2 Posted March 10, 2010 Leather with a non metallic is going to be tough. I wear a Wilderness traveler whenever I fly and love it. It's far from a cheap nylon jobbie, it's nyl;on reinfoirced and I've used it on the range many times.
