Anyone have experience with the NC Star branded scopes?

They're pretty nicely priced, but the old adage "You get what you pay for.." Does it apply here?

Just needed something for my .22 rifle.. If its reliable enough to hold zero, that would be fine with me..

On a 22 you should be fine. I have no experience with them though. but cheap scopes were made for 22's.

I have one that has gone on a couple guns. I didn't hold zero on anything with recoil, including the AR. It in now on my 10-22 and does fine. I hit pennies at 100 yards with the 10-22 and the NC star scope. As stated above it's fine with a 22. I also have a holographic NC star that I tried on another 10-22 but that was junk and didn't hold zero during magazines.

I've had several and they all worked well. Not as sharp or glare free as a more expensive scope but they held zero.

 

I have an older one that is a copy of the Colt scope that clamps to the carrying handle on a M16/M4. I used it on a M16 and M4 before I retired and fired many thousands of rounds with it mounted including full auto fire. The crosshairs are a bit fuzzy now but it is still usable. I don't think the scope was designed for the abuse I put it through but I still use it.

I would personally steer clear of them. They may last a while but they will eventually break. I had a 3-9 Acog looking NC Star scope that broke after 200 rounds. My motto is buy once, cry once.
