No. The first letter of your last name and 4 numbers are a soundex code, next 3 numbers ?, next 2 represnt your middle initial, last 5 dob and eye color code.

You need 6 points to renew your license. You get 4 for a "primary document" like a digital driver's license, passport, etc. You need one item from the primary list, and at least one from a "secondary document" list. You can use a valid NJ Firearms Purchaser Card as a secondary worth 3 points.

Last time I went in, I had a whole bunch of points, I think I handed the license, firearms id card, pilots license, and something else just to see if id get a reaction, and the staff didn't even raise an eyebrow.

One thing to remember when renewing your licence is make sure if you have any endorsments that they get transfered as well. My father's friend had to renew his license several years ago and a few weeks later he noticed his motorcycle endorsment was not transfered. They had no way to look it up in the system so he had to take the test over again.
