Me and Davey Crockett At The Alamo - Bears

Well today I felt like Davey Crockett at the Alamo. I was surrounded by four bears. A 200 pounder behind me and three 300+ pounders in front of me. The bastards come right up to the house and the air horn doesn't do squat!

 

Well here's the gun talk. I haved a coat rack/gun cabinet by the door that I used to keep a .410 single shot with rifled slugs in, as bear deterent. It's only 43" ID. Well, in light of the numbers of Bruins showing up... and the chance of one coming in the familiy room and sitting in my chair has increased... I've decided to put something s little more potent with more shots in the cabinet. The only thing I have that fits is a Marlin .35 Rem. It's loaded 4+1 w/ 200gr soft points. Oh! I feel much better now.

 

Opinions... 35 Rem w/ 200gr soft points should role them over don't you think?

I hear that bear meat can be gamy. It depends on what they eat, age, sex, etc.

 

I'd love a bearskin rug though
