so im talkin to this guy today (who supposedly knows "things" as i was told) and among other issues discussed he tells me:

1) it is illegal for me to keep my shotgun loaded in my house and it is actually illegal to keep any gun/rifle loaded except for revolvers.

2) it is illegal to use buck shot 00 for self defense >>> using it equals to using HP rounds and i will do "time" for it.

somebody help me out here pls, cause this is the 1st time im hearin about it.....

No to both questions. As long as there is no safety issues there is nothing illegal about keeping a loaded shotgun in the house or using 00 Buck.

This guy has no idea what he's talking about if this is an example of his extensive knowledge.

Whatever you do choose... I would take particular caution when choosing the round based on your environment. I'm sure if I started shooting my M44 it would be leaving holes in my walls, my neighbors walls, and their neighbors walls. Lots of guys say birdshot is not an effective HD round, but it'll help prevent collateral damage and it still goes click-click-BOOOOOOOOOM.
