chris327 30 Posted July 6, 2010 Hi, im very interested in the armscor m1600 and mak22. Are they legal in nj? I am looking at ordering from a website such as this. is there any dealers that would order online for me? also is the walther g22 nj legal? http://www.gunsatcost.com/item/96_Armsc ... 0RD_B.aspx http://www.gunsatcost.com/item/97_Armsc ... RD_BL.aspx thanks in advance guys. chris
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted July 6, 2010 All 3 of those guns you mentioned are legal. The reliabiity/quality of the armscor guns comes into question IIRC. Alot of guys go with the GSG AK Style rifle, or the S&W MP-22. I'm sure any of our vendors here on the site would order it for you if it was available. Maksim 1,504 Posted July 6, 2010 What eddie said. They have massive feeding issues with ammo, and also are picky with the types of ammo too. The feeding issue is an issue across all ammo.
Col. Mortimer 11 Posted July 6, 2010 I know those rifles are tacticool but you will have more fun with a regular rifle that works reliably. Looks are cool initially but how cool is it when you are constanly clearing jams. A Ruger 10/22 may be common but there is a reason. It works. Alos, there are an endless number of after market upgrades. My Mossberg Plinkster is accurate, reliable and fun as hell to shoot. As for an FFL, I just did another transfer with Bruce Smith, Sr. at Lincoln Park True Value Hardware for $35 which included the transfer and NICS. I doubt you will be able to beat that deal anywhere. chris327 30 Posted July 7, 2010 thanks for the info guys. Yea im gunna stay away from those guns then. was looking at a sw 15-22 but thought i could get both the armscor ak and m1600 for the same price as the sw. but ill save my money from that. I have a mossberg plinkster 702, i like it but it jams much more than my marlin model 60. im guessing that might just be because the 60 is tube fed. I think im gunna just get a 22lr pistol instead sinse i dont have one of those. I could always stick with the 22lr rifles i have that are not tacticool for now and get a pistol to do siloutes at cherry ridge. Thanks for the info guys. Any 22lr pistols you can recomend that are cheap ($200) range? bruce doesnt sell any firearms he just does transfers correct? thanks for everything. chris
Maksim 1,504 Posted July 7, 2010 How often do you clean those rimfires? what kind of ammo? Unless you dont clean it at least every 500 rounds... you shouldnt have issues with them. That is unless you are shooting remington golden bullets crap 22lr ammo bulk packs.
chris327 30 Posted July 7, 2010 I cleam my rimfires every time i use them. 250 rounds about. ive tried remington gold pack bulk, winchester and federal ammo. the remington actually works the best with the 702.
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted July 7, 2010 try some CCI rounds. They are a bit more money, but at least in my guns, they work far better than other brands.

He doesn't sell guns. He has some ammo behind a counter on the right side of the store but I have never asked about ammo. Here is a S&W 22A: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =178117887 Here is a Buckmark: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =177791849 I don't own a 22A but it is supposed to be very easy to clean. The Buckmark is a pain because it is not made to take apart. Here's a good site too: http://rimfirecentral.com/forums/

There are many problem guns for sale. For $200 new, you are getting a deal. PS: Now that I look at the 22A, I want one. Thanks Chris.
Circlesqr 1 Posted July 12, 2010 Chris, Sounds like you've already made up your mind but don't ever buy an Armscor M1600. I bought one years ago and it's a piece of crap. Stick with a S&W 15-22 or a SIG 522 if you want to save a little bit of money on the purchase. --Daniel
