Ray Ray 3,566 Posted November 18, 2016 Yep. Had the Hogue overmolded set before which felt great, might transfer that to the 28" Mossy. I do like the Magpul furniture better though... I use the Hogue forend on my HD Mossy 500. It is arguably the most comfortable and grippy forend on the market. Dare I say it, but if it had a spot for a rail it'd be perfect. always_an_eagle 165 Posted November 28, 2016 My new (new to me) Stevens 311A 12 gauge shotgun. The barrels were already cut down to 18.5 inches when I bought it on Black Friday this year. I'm planning on refurbishing the stock to clean it up and I might polish the chambers so I could take empty shells out on the fly. All I need to now is to fire it (I just got it) and a way to hold some extra shells on the gun. I would like to get a 6 round shell carrier for the buttstock. T Bill 649 Posted November 29, 2016 I have an Uncle Mike's Buttstock Shell Holder that holds 5 shells that works well Model 88493
always_an_eagle 165 Posted November 29, 2016 I have an Uncle Mike's Buttstock Shell Holder that holds 5 shells that works well Model 88493Nothing wrong with a 5 rounder but I kind of want a 6 rounder. I like the additional round plus say I fire the 4 rounds from the the buttstock and I have to reload with the 5 rounder, I have 1 round left. If I have the 6 rounder, then I could complete a full reload.
T Bill 649 Posted November 29, 2016 Hey, that's what they make, not my choice. You could always velcro a molle, bandolier, or a sling, abate a little awkward with a SxS
Screwball 483 Posted November 29, 2016 Just got my Ithaca back from Robar... Started as a Ducks Unlimited gun, which I bought as a donor to replace the stock on my dad's identical shotgun... which was cracked. Tossed on a Boyd's stock set, and had Rose Action Sports shorten the barrel, thread for Remington chokes, and add the beads. Robar did the NP3 Plus, and I added the Velcro for the shell cards. Really happy with how it came out.
High Exposure 5,662 Posted November 29, 2016 Screwball, nicely done! Robar is good people and their work is flawless. I know Lt Col Blish (retired) who just took over the company. Solid guy and a wealth of info. In addition to the coating work they do, their new Polymer ARs are insane!

Vlad G 345 Posted November 29, 2016 How does aiming work with the rib being shinny?
Screwball 483 Posted November 29, 2016 How does aiming work with the rib being shinny? Not really that shiny. NP3 has a dull look... kind of like matte stainless. Rib is serrated, but didn't notice any issue with it under the office ceiling light. Just the two beads.

Hairless_Ape 76 Posted December 1, 2016 Anyone know of a good butt cuff that holds 6 shotgun shells on the buttstock? I've got the Ultimate Arms 8 rounder (6 on one side 2 on the other). I've had zero issues with it. Got for $10 on Amazon.

Does the left side of the shell holder interfere with your cheek weld on the stock when shooting?
Hairless_Ape 76 Posted December 1, 2016 8 rounds are better than 6. Does the left side of the shell holder interfere with your cheek weld on the stock when shooting? No, they're at the very front, so they're far enough forward to be out of the way. I also load my shells from bottom, so they ride low.
