Special Classifier Match at Shongum

Recommended Posts

The November Match will be a Special Classifier Match. This means you can obtain a USPSA classification with just this match. We will try to start the match by 10am. Please arrive as early as possible. Registration will be open around 9:15am. Anyone who needs a safety check must arrive before 9am.

There will be six classifiers:

Round count is 62. Fee for the match is $30 for USPSA members. Due to the large number of shooters, additional classifiers or additional divisions will not be allowed. Please respond to Ron Gumann at "[email protected]" by November 3, 12pm to let Ron Guman know if you plan to attend. Match Attendance does not usually exceed capacity, but Ron wants to make sure he can accommodate all who reply.

Ron will fill the match by order email replies are received. If email replies fill the match, there is no guarantee that those who show up the day of the match can be accommodated.

There will not be a rifle or shotgun stage after this match.

As always, help with set up and tear down is needed and appreciated and RO's will be needed as well.

Oops! Life just got in the way.

Lynn just told me we have to bring the beagles to the vet on Saturday morning.

Crap! Shoot some A's for me, guys. Have fun.

You should use my Vet, a fellow shooter who "knows" there are never any appointments on the 1st Saturday of the month.

The weather forecast looks good but chilly. Bring gloves. I know the long-term forecasts are nonsense but let's hope they are right and the weather is good.

Additionally, I will be running the safety check for new shooters so all new shooters should be there before 9AM. The regulars hate to start late.

Any chance to shoot more than one division?

Any indication of how many people will be there?

I think I have to sit this one out. GF isn't happy I spent 3 weekends in a row going off shooting :)

The operative there is GF. Get her trained now, before it's too late. Once the status changes from GF to W, it'll be all but impossible to alter her behavior. Better to do it now.

You also need to choose which matches you go to wisely.

Mine is in the transition between gf and w and insists that I go shooting if I mention an event. She is trained well. :icon_mrgreen:

From Ron Guman:

Folks, we are expecting a record turnout this Saturday. Parking may be tight due to the turnout and because of preparations to replace our barn there are four storage containers in the parking lot. You can park as close to the barn as possible, access is not needed. You can block in three of the four containers, not the one marked “USPSA”. If needed block in the cars parked against the right hand side of the lot by parking in line with them. There is an access road that bears off to the right just before the gate/big rock, you can park up that road.

I will have no parking signs up to provide set up access for us to the two ranges.

Please do not block direct access from the road up to the clubhouse. The indoor range is open for members and they should have access as well as any emergency response.
