aijai 1 Posted May 27, 2011 so how do you get away from being branded a forum dabbler. is there a minimum number of post one has to put up.?
vjf915 456 Posted May 27, 2011 The quickest way is to become a premium member. It's very cheap, and helps contribute to the maintenance of the site. It will get you an extra section, more PM space, the ability to create threads in the marketplace section, and a Premium Member tag instead of the boring "Forum Dabbler". I got your back Maks

Guest schutzen-jager Posted July 24, 2011 unamerican to be rated + not know by who or why or for what posts - poorly conceived idea - i think that this will be my last time on this forum - some good informative info but lots of errors by posters who have probably never had any hands on experiance with what they are posting about - i normally just ignore the errors but this rating system just plain bugs me -

JackDaWack 2,894 Posted September 7, 2011 If your worried about your rating, then i dunno what to say, grow a pair? It doesn't impact anything on this site what so ever except an EGO.
creeper 16 Posted October 11, 2011 My negative rating is at a record -50 today! Just yesterday it was -30! WTF? I know, I am not the most popular guy here, but this rating is getting absurd. I speak my mind and don't try to be artificially "nice" for the sake of it. If that bothers some people then they are free to post their opinion in the threads, but not anonymously. My marketplace rating is excellent (except for 1 unpleasant incident a while ago). The feedback mechanism in marketplace works fine. fyi. I have requested maks if he can simply disable the rating system. Unless the person who giving the rating is also identified (I know, there is some limitation in software ...) and gives a reason, this just makes no sense to keep enabled. The fact that it is kept anonymous is comical.

bry@n 195 Posted November 7, 2011 What difference does it make if it is anonymous? It make no difference to me. Mine goes up and down and I know why mine usually goes down. The only time I notice is when I need to send somebody a PM and/or I am tring to find a PM from somebody.
Shuban 0 Posted December 13, 2011 I think it's based on the performance in this forum.
bry@n 195 Posted December 13, 2011 Shuban, it's relatively related to people who agree or disagree with a post you made. Those that have -73 ratings, like to stir the pot. I wouldn't be concerned.
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted December 13, 2011 I think it's based on the performance in this forum. It's based on people clicking on the green up or red down arrows. More or less it's if people like or dislike what you posted.
1down5up 7 Posted December 20, 2011 I don't understand why people think the ratings are anonymous? If you click the numbered box next to the arrows it shows everyone who gave a rating and which rating they gave.

Socom 19 Posted December 20, 2011 Reputation is a points based system where users rate your posts. This is done with the + and - buttons on the bottom right hand side of the post. Your overall "reputation" is then the sum of all the positives and negatives together. There is no way for any mod or admin to know who rates what posts how. Main purpose, in the long term, users will be able to see who the posters with value are, as opposed to someone just posting worthless garbage, or wrong information. huh? all you have to do is click the lil area next to the up or down arrow and it shows who all did what ! kinda messed up cause people will go snipe that person lol
bry@n 195 Posted December 20, 2011 You suck. lol Apparently, you can vote more than 1 negative in a day. I think it's 3 now.
Guest Posted December 20, 2011 I think it is useful, but that and a $2 gets you a coffee....
