Last night I had the pleasure of dining @ Tiro A Segno in NY. The name means Shoot the Target.. During dinner guests get invited to the basement to shoot .22 scoped rifles in a 3 lane range... This is the oldest Italian-American club in the US, founded in 1888, and in it's current location since 1924.. The food was outstanding! I had the Antelope Sirloin for main course and it was awesome.. here are a few pic's.. VERY cool place.. I love it when my two favorite worlds collide, shooting and eating..

 

 

 

My shooting got progressively worse as the night went on... damn wine...

There is.. it's a members only place. No prices on the menus, no payment when you leave, it's all "taken care of". Very old school Italian... it's great, this was my second time there.. the sign in the picture is the only sign for the place, so you have to where it is, very nondescript building..

they wheel this out after dinner with some fruit, prickly pear and grapes that tasted like tiny glasses of wine :-)

Sounds cool. Kinda reminds me of the Masons, but add's guns into the mix.

I don't think so, but i'm not too sure i'm comfortable with my prints all over 2 rifles in the basement of "Italian-American" club

If it's the same place as what my friend was thinking, you can pay $65 and get into the whiskey bar.

Not true, I spoke about this recently and was told that a .22 behind the ear would ricochet around in the head without coming back out. I was told it was the round of choice since its not that loud and makes little mess.

I saw a video of a state trooper shot and killed by one round from a .22. He unloaded his 357 into the guy who killed him during the shoot out. The suspect never lost consciousness or appeared to lose any abilities. Ya just never know.

and the ammo is cheap. think about how bad of a shot you could be and still not spend more than $10.

Yeah, I wish it were that easy.. The dinner is put up for auction at a fund raiser we attend every year, it's not cheap by any means.. lets just say you could buy yourself an ACR or SCAR for what it costs.. thankfully I'm not the bidder on that.. It's the same auction I "won" the boar hunt at...

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but they wouldn't have happened to be Italian those past presidents would they? Good god. Look at some on those names.

The "old school" names may have disappeared but they stayed true to their roots: Tomaso, Franciso, Petro, Martino, Nicolo...
