Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted December 28, 2010 The "-2" means that it is the second engineering change. I don't remember what they were, but there were some glitches in the original 39 and supposedly the "-2's" corrected all of those and is the more desirable model. SIGInst 2 Posted December 28, 2010 Great pistols, ultra reliable and durable but with two primary issues. The factory sights kind of suck and the front sight is integral, so changing it is difficult at best. The most significant thing to be aware of is that the pistol is not drop safe unless the safety is on. It isn't equipped with a firing pin safety so if it's dropped on the hammer or muzzle with the safety off it's likely to discharge. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
