Sht 3 Posted January 15, 2011 I'm new to shooting so cut me some slack if this is a dumb question. Are the outdoor ranges open when there is snow on the ground? Melgamatic 66 Posted January 15, 2011 Cherry Ridge is open. My best times shooting are in the winter when it is cold and snowy and I have the range almost to myself. Last weekend there were only 1 or 2 other people there. Last year I had to walk over a crusted 3' of snow to get to the targets. It was great. Monmouth County R&P is usually open after they plow the access road. With the new road almost done, they should be open more quickly after snows; it takes them a week or so to reopen now.
