Buying ammo while out of state and bringing it back home in NJ

Lets say I was in PA and found some great deal on 9mm pistol ammo. Is it legal for me to buy it there and bring it back with me to NJ?

I do that every time I go visit my brother down in SC. I basically go to Dicks', Walmart, and the Academy and buy up all I can.

i was in PA over the weekend, bought 4 boxes of .308 for $14 ea. including tax, and 100 rds 12ga 7.5 shot for $23... my jaw dropped when she told me my total... thats like 150 bucks worth of ammo in nj

I buy all my ammo in Delaware. The walmart in del is so cheap it's ridiculous. Some example

 

Federal .40 50 count. $15

Federal premium .17hmr 50 count $12

Federal 12 gauge target load 100 count $22

I think federal 9mm is like $10

 

They have a large selection too. All different high powered rifles, .357 mag, .410 handgun, ect.

 

Plus no sales tax

Was in Maryland last week on a business trip so I decided to stop by Bass Pro Shops, pricing was a bit cheaper then Dick's in New Jersey but it was sure nice to load your cart and walk to the register , pay and walk out without having to provide any sort of ID.
