as the topic title says I am a new member and new to New Jersey fresh from PA. I live in Hunterdon County and was pretty luck to get my FID in a month. I look forward to learning lots here about the many gun laws of NJ!

Welcome! The guns laws of NJ are complex but the overall theme is you are guilty until you prove otherwise. The scarely part is the police do not know or understand the laws.

The border guards probably confiscated it at the Delaware River crossing nder the principle of "If you're foolish enough to move here, you don't deserve to leave again"
