More Friday Stuff - Cult Movies

Recommended Posts

I was talking to my son about some of the movies that have reached cult status. I know everyone has their favorites... I probably have a dozen or so, but if I had to narrow my list down to my favorite 5, they would be (in no particular order)

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Earth Girls are Easy

Buckaroo Bonzai

Clockwork Orange

Pink Flamingo

There are more, but those are today's top picks.

What are your top 5?

I have a few that I love to watch, and could watch every day.

1. The Boondock saints

2. Pulp Fiction

3. Sex Galaxy (Google it, honest it isn't that dirty)

4. Reservoir Dogs

I can't really think of a fifth movie.

Add 'The Crow' to your list and it is complete.

These are mine:

1. The Italian Job. The original 1969 movie, My first car was a 67 Cooper.

2. The Big Blue. Basically a movie about free diving.

3. Apocalypse Now. IMO the best Viet Nam movie ever made.

4. Star Wars. The Millennium Falcon

5. Mosquito Coast. Reminds me of home.

Zardoz and Omega Man are good, too.

Lets not forget Dr. Strangelove, too.

Gummo

Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Clerks

Kelly's Heros

The scenes in the Chinese Restaurant in Wong Foo was actually filmed in a restaurant on Kennedy Blvd in Jersey City which has since closed but we used to go there for parties and good old American Chinese.

Grosse Point Blank; all I got for now (that hasn't been already named).

That's a great sleeper. It may have the best movie soundtrack ever (at least if you grew up in the eighties and listened to Punk and alternative).

Really is a great soundtrack. I admit I didn't really grow up in the 80s (I was at more impressionable ages during the 90s), but I can definitely appreciate the soundtrack a lot more now. Great movie too.

And to add to the list, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"
