Corbett signs 'castle doctrine' bill expanding right to use deadly force in self-defense

Gov. Tom Corbett has signed a bill to widen the right to use deadly force in self-defense in Pennsylvania. He signed the bill today in a private ceremony in his office at the Capitol.

The bill, which the Senate enacted last week, would expand the state’s “castle doctrine” to allow the right to use a gun or other deadly force in self-defense in situations outside a person’s home or business.

Before, the use of deadly force was not justifiable if the person could safely retreat, except when the threat was made inside his or her home or business.

The legislation also limits certain civil liability in some cases for people who act within the guidelines.

You know, once you leave, you can not post **** about how nice it is there and bad NJ is, like others do. :icon_rolleyes:

While my buds in the bike community I will bust there chops (required in that circle of friends and must have very thick skin) I wouldn't do that to the folks in here, I in my work life are one of the few people I know that NEVER forget Where I Came from. Sorry to take the joke to a serious note so I now return you to our regular scheduled fun. :)
