email i sent

----------------------------------

As a law abiding member of public within New Jersey I strongly urge you to OPPOSE A588 and A1013 that is due to be heard in Trenton on Monday at 2pm.

Of particular concern is A588 which would look to ban armor piercing ammunition which is already prohibited under federal and state law. Trying to add further legislation, such as A588, is a waste of tax payer's money and would provide the opportunity for significant abuse by the current or future Attorney Generals.

I am extremely concerned at the underhand and secretive nature in which the assembly is attempting to introduce these bills. These bills are a direct threat to the ability for my wife and I to protect ourselves and our families and any elected officials that votes for these bills will lose my support in any and all future elections.

I urge you to do the right thing and OPPOSE A588 and A1013

Thank you

xxxxxx

We are all in this together no matter where in the U.S. we are.

Another suggestion to post this information at....

Is anyone a member of the AR15.com forums? They have 217,000 active members!

And did anyone post at Gun Owners Of America? I am not a member...

What about http://www.nraila.org/ ?

I made a facebook group just to focus on this issue, try and reach out to 2A supporters who aren't active on messageboards. Anyway, I wanted to thank Silent Service, since I posted your form letter there, and Cemetary Bob since I copied/pasted the representatives numbers.

Anyway, if you're interested in joinging the Social Media side of this thing, here you go.

Already mentioned here > http://njgunforums.c...ion-in-trenton/

Gun for Hire did a good write up on the ammo ban bill A588, and the defaced firearm bill A1013

http://gunforhireblo...r-ammo-ban-more

Keans updated contact info. I believe to be correct as it is right from the legislature site.

IF CC signs this bill, that will be the end of his political career.

Personally, I don't THINK he will. I could be wrong, but I mean, I think he has aspirations of moving up in the GOP. Showing himself as part of NJ's typical anti-gun roster of politicians would make him un-electable in most states, and would cost him a lot of support from various 2A groups. I imagine he's not THAT dumb to realize that that's political suicide.

I started a new topic earlier, (Dicks ammo ban and NJ - Perfect together), after I was slapped at Dicks tonight. As I was writing (venting) that post I had this thought.

The thought crossed my mind that the proposed new ammunition law, A588, is really going to be a cash grab under the guise of protecting the police. I fathom to believe that the law is going to be like an announced toll increase. Like when the turnpike/parkway commission announces a toll hike of 100%, people **** and moan, the commission then says oh, ok just a 50% increase, the people go whew, the commission guys high five, laugh their arses off and go to Myrtle Beach for a round or two of golf. This law may be a set up to require a seperate permit/fee to purchase ammo. Maybe the state is going to try and require a NICS for ammo purchase. It may start out as like a $2 fee, but you know how that goes.

For lack of a better term, it is what is it is. Again this is what they do when they don't know what else to do. The state is broke and they come up with this stuff to make it look like they are doing something, it’s a diversion. It’s totally mindboggling to me that they create BS laws that only affects law abiding citizens. You said it yourself; bad guys don’t care these laws. For bad guys these laws are like an earring on a hooker, it means nothing. As you could see it's mostly all Dems which is their MO, not that the R's are any better. We don't have Gun problems we have crime problems. The two bills mentioned above are nothing more than feel-good legislation for bureaucrats and legislators. The people of this state are too busy watching Jersey Shore and American Idol instead of watching their rights slip away. For those that don't know the New Jersey state motto is "Liberty and Prosperity", we have neither, we have a broke Nanny State. Any further purposed gun law bills should never see the light of day in this state, we have enough laws.

AR15 forum is a waste, their answer is either to **** about Dem's, or move out of the State.
