Any 1911 gunsmiths in or around Jersey City?

Looking for someone experienced to install Meprolight Tactical Wedge night sights on my Kimber Custom Crimson Carry II. I'm hoping I won't have to send it to Kimber (as suggested by Caso's and a couple of other gun shops). I'm new to 1911s in general.. is there any particular reason why Kimber sights are so tricky to replace?

Any gunsmith can swap out the sights. It's a very simple/straight forward task. Your gun should have the standard Novak low mount cuts in the rear and I believe those sights are made by Kimber. They should go right in with very little filing. I swap out sights myself, I have a sight pusher for 1911 but you dont' really need it.

Scroll down this sub-forum and Tony357 did a tutorial on switching out KImber sights. Make sure you buy Kimber sights as they have a proprietary cut. I am going to swap out my front myself. Good luck regardless of which way you go.

Thanks all. I didn't want to have to buy any sight pushing tools since this is probably the only time I'd ever replace one on any of my firearms... Or at least until the tritium runs out a decade from now. I didn't see Tony357's tutorial, I'll do a more thorough search later.

 

I called around and the closest place I found is NJ Firearms Guild. They would install for $45 (not cheap) and take a couple of days. Unfortunately I forgot to ask whether they just use punches or if they use non-marring sight tools. Or better yet, those specific to Kimbers.

      I am new here and looking to sell my two hand guns (I have another post for a Glock G19 GEN5 that will have a description very similar to this post).

      This post is for a Browning 22 1911 Black Label with fiber optic sights that I purchased new from Firearms Support and Storage June of 2019. I have used it a total of two times at RTSP in Union NJ and in it's lifetime it has shot only 390 rounds down range.
      It comes with 2 10 round clips magazines - I have not used it since prior to covid, so I will give it the best cleaning I can before the sale.

      PA FFL/Gunsmith recommendations?

      Hello everyone, brand new to the board so let me know if I'm in the right subforum or if I can have this better answered elsewhere. pagunforums.com anyone? lol
      Can anyone recommend an FFL in Pennsylvania that will pin weld breaks, pin stocks, and also accept transfers. I live in North Jersey so anything in North PA with low FFL and gunsmithing fees are preferable. I am running into problems with a shop refusing to send complete AR 15s to NJ FFLs. Any help is appreciated.

      PSA KAC M110 Clone 7.62x51mm

      I have a like new (only zeroed) PSA Sabre KAC M110 Clone in 7.62x51mm. This is PSA's clone version of the infamous Knights Armament M110. Very high quality, excellent 2 stage trigger, 20" chrome lined barrel, adjustable gas block, and is NJ legal with a pinned Surefire SOCOM muzzle brake.  Radian Raptor charging handle and Radian ambi safety. Upper and lower are billet receivers compatible with all KAC SR-25 and LMT MWS/MARS-H pattern receivers.  Im no where close to being a long range shooter but ive been able to get 0.7 MOA out of it with 175gr federal gold medal match ammo and Im sure the rifle is capable of much better accuracy. Asking $1650 (which is a steal for what you get) at any FFL thats a reasonable distance from Jersey City. I can also ship but that would be on your dime.  Optic/bipod etc not included but can be purchased if interested. Vortex Razor Gen-II HD 3-18x50 FFP with the new EBR-7C MRAD illuminated reticle in a 1.54 reptilia mount. Id include the optic for another $1700. Happy to answer any questions or provide more pictures. Not interested in any trades. Thank you.
