72 came with a lanyard loop, only year I have seen that with the serrated MSH. Shows very little wear on lugs. I sold a blue in box last year for 1950.00 this one was 1200, guess the economy is slowing the firearm prices too.Blue 1972 had loop also.

Any ideas on sprucing up the nickle?

As to the nickel, maybe something like Simichrome? Test it on a really small area first. Good luck.

I have used Mr. Clean magic eraser to clean up stains on nickel plated stuff.

Used brakeclean, apparently dried oil or cosmoline.

I believe the nickel was meant to be flat based, A good ultrasonic cleaning with a rust preventative cleaner would do it justice..

I couldn't pass up on a 1972, basically unfired. So NIB but 40 years old! And in my favorite round!! I got it for 1200. I can never find them anymore. The last one I had was blue, fired and sold last year for 1950!
