Problem with my Taurus 94

Recommended Posts

After firing about 20 rounds or so, the cylinder begins to lock up between every 5 or 12 rounds fired.

Regardless if shooting single or double action.

Sometimes it can be freed by gently rocking the cylinder back and forth - other times I have to open and reclose it.

This morning at the range it was especially troublesome.

Any ideas or fixes I can perform ?

Also make sure that the ejector rod isn't coming loose and hanging things up. Sometimes a simple tightening will solve the lock-up problem. If I had the gun in my hands I'd check it out for you. Perhaps you could meet a wheelgunner from SCFGPA at the range to look it over for you. Just offer to stop for dessert @ Randazzo's on Rt. 202 and I'll be there tonight, lol!

Good luck with it!

Dave

Don't mess with it, send it back to Taurus. I had a the same problem with my Tracker, the people down there are great, and will work with you. Don't forget Taurus has a real life time warrenty.

Just try and get Taurus to pay for the shipping of the firearm back to Florida, especially if it is under a year old. I'm in the midst of a battle with them now over that issue.

One of the guns I recently got in for testing is the Taurux TX22.
I was drawn to it by the decent to good reviews I saw and that it is a 16+1 capacity and had an option for a threaded barrel.  Yes yes, sorry Jersey folks!
Have about 200 or so rounds through the gun right now of various ammo, Winchester and Federal bulk packs, CCI mini mags and Remington Standard velocity.
Really awesome and no problems hitting steel at 25 yards or so.
The big thing for me however is that it is a "standard size" plastic fantastic pistol and has a really nice trigger.
All of that for under $300!
Not sure of the long term longevity but so far... am quite impressed.
Let me know if you want to check it out and I figure the video will be out in a month or so.

I reload 223 with CCI #41 mil primers. Seem to have trouble getting depth especially with Lake and Federal brass.  Lucky if they are -.001 or -.002. Sometimes +.001 or +.002.
Primer pockets are thoroughly prepped with three tools.  I use both a hand tool and my press inserter gadget.  There is no mil crimp problem here.
So what depth should I expect  and how do I achieve that?
I have no such problem with 9mm or 308 WIN.
      Thanks for the help.

      I want to purchase some speedloaders for a S&W 617 10 shot 22 revolver.

      I found three brands:
DS-10 (there seem to be a few varieties) Ansac Speed Beez I would be interested in hearing the pro's and con's of each of them.
