Anyone used a Lucid HD7 red dot with or without magnifiers?

The online reviews of this newish product are positive. I'm intrigued by it as an all-purpose optic for use on rimfire and 9mm carbines that are on my wish list. The AAA battery strikes me as a big plus. Anyone have one or shoot one at a demo?

I have one. It's built like a tank.

 

It sits on a 16" flat top AR. It's only seen 4-500 rounds, but so far so good. I think it compares favorably to optics costing a few hundred dollars more.

I love mine!!! I don't really use the magnifier at all though. I mainly use it for close range. It worked great in the Urban Carbine class i took from gun for hire.

Thanks for sharing your experience with your HD7. I'm pre-positioning for Xmas at this point and hope to attach one to a new rifle by end of 2012

Screw-in ones? No.

 

But mounted ones will work as long as you can get the magnifier lined up properly w. the sight.

The screw in ones are pretty terrible anyway. I have a vortex magnifier that I'm pretty happy with. You just need to find the mount that gives you good line of sight through the red dot.

No not yet. I'm waiting for the Primary Arms ones to come back instock. I'm not using my rifle in any battles so I don't see the need to drop $150 on a mount
