2 years and 2 nationals in the books

Recommended Posts

Seems like USPSA years are flying by as fast as the forum adding members and years.

Just got back from a quick trip to Las Vegas for my second, USPSA Open/Lim 10 nationals.

So here is what I learned:

1. Eric Grauffel is the BEST shooter in the world, by far, winning both the Open and Production matches by a good margin.

2. I improved. Shooting Lim 10, finished 69th this year, vs 96th last year, against the best in the world.

3. Know the rules, should of pull a target.

4. NJ Gun Laws SUCK!

5. NJ ranges have a long way to improve.

Went to a Las Vegas gun show with goodies gallore. Went to the newest Las Vegas indoor Range, Range 702.... was a pleasure guys, thanks for the vip treatment.

Will discuss the points in detail in the near future, here is the shooting video for those interested.

I should of been more specific... indoor ranges.

The two ranges I visited in Las Vegas, Range 702 and American Shooters really take indoor ranges to a 5 star category. Big, airy, clean ranges, with a TON of space, great circulation, extremely friendly employees, EXTREMELY reasonable ammo prices to buy or for rentals ($12 a box of 9mm).

by space... put it this way... BA, has about 15k sf including the range, the store, the classrooms on the side and more space in the back. Range 702 is 55k Square feet with about 35 shooting lanes split into 5 sections. That does not include the prep room, the massive store, the VIP areas, or the cafe. Did I mention $10 walk on fees? $5 if you were a local.

But the other topic... being at the gun show... and being outside of the socialist state.... where there are no permit systems, no OGAM, no banned list, no mag limits.... I still felt safe. Go figure.

Every time you leave the state you realize how f'ed up "reasonable gun control" is. I was accepting of some of the stuff, but I am 100% certain, all of these feel good laws above and beyond NICS is complete BS designed to keep the people in power in power.

Absolute power corrupts absoutely

Try visitng some indoor ranges NOT located near tourist destinations where those visiting are basically begging to have their money vacuumed out of their wallet. Heck, even in vegas there are indoor ranges that look like poop compared to OB indoors, and OB is pretty no frills.

Range 702 was mostly for locals. The fact is, there is room for a nicer range.

Like Club Object in Moscow. =)
