Cam'mown 0 Posted November 6, 2012 I think I've narrowed it down to these 2. Both felt great at the shop, but haven't shot either.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted November 6, 2012 Stoeger Cougar might have a better track record, I contemplated one myself. That's my vote
AnthonyG 36 Posted November 6, 2012 well, the baby eagle is based off the cz platform where as the cougar is the metal version of the Beretta px4, I personally think the baby eagle shoots better because of added weight but the cougar would be easier to carry if you ever got into that ccw thing that doesn't exist in nj. Maksim 1,504 Posted November 6, 2012 You can shoot mine if you like. Have a baby eagle 45. That would be my choice, cz based design. Now you have good new mags avail.
raz-0 1,256 Posted November 7, 2012 The beretta version of the cougar before the tooling went to stoeger was easily one of the softest shooting guns in .45 I ever used. It was a rental with broken sights do I can't speak to accuracy. I have a baby eagle in 9mm. In .45 I'd probably take the cougar.

My wife, Anastasia shot the Baby Eagle 45, and could hardly believe it was a 45. Extremely soft shooting.
Cam'mown 0 Posted November 7, 2012 Hey maksim, Any reason you're thinking of selling the Baby Eagle?
Jon 264 Posted November 7, 2012 Hey maksim, Any reason you're thinking of selling the Baby Eagle? He has a problem keeping things that he bought.
Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted November 7, 2012 Im partial to the Cougars myself, my first handgun ever shot was a Beretta Cougar .45 Never having fired a handgun before, the .45 was still do-able. I think I was about 12-13?

Maksim 1,504 Posted November 7, 2012 Actually, just boredom. =P I bought it like new in box, shot it exactly once.... cleaned, and put back in box. I hate changing press to reload for 45 ACP..... and really, most of what I shoot is my uspsa guns.
Underdog 1,593 Posted November 7, 2012 How does the M&P 45 go up against these two?
Maksim 1,504 Posted November 7, 2012 its different. I like the M&P 45 from when I shot it. Seemed a tad faster to cycle. But then again... I have not shot my baby eagle in over a year.
tony357 386 Posted November 8, 2012 The baby eagle action is extremely fast, at least it is on my 41AE baby eagle..
