Shotgun Shootout! January 6th at Clinton WMA

So we've had some interest in going to the rifle range so we could shoot some .22's and stuff. This month we will be doing that. Please feel free to bring a muzzleloader/.22/.17/slugs/buckshot to do some plinking at the rifle range. I'm thinking we will shoot a few hours at the clay range first then move over to the rifle range.

9am at the Clay range

Please try and bring everything you can in terms of a gun, ammo, and clays.

 

A rough check list of what to bring:

- Gun(s)

- Ammo (birdshot #7, 7.5, 8)

- Clays

- Thrower if you have one

- Eyes and ears

- Shell pouch

- Beverages/snacks

- Layer up and bring a warm jacket/gloves/hat depending on weather

- Chair

 

If you can't bring some things, we will have plenty of stuff there. If you've never shot a shotgun before, I and others will try working with you to be able to dust a clay by the end of the day!

Gun rules to remember:

 

Always treat a gun as if it was loaded

Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot

Never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy

Always be aware of you're target/line of fire

For this range, keep all guns unloaded until you're on the firing line

 

Be smart, be safe, and we will have a fun-filled day!

lunker- to buy a firearm that either you've been wanting for a long time or an impulse buy and then sell it to fund another firearm.

i.e. " I bought this PPS but I'm gonna lunker it since i really want a Colt AR".

 

blueline-to buy a firearm to add to a collection, but never shooting it and therefore making it a safequeen.

i.e. "Hey, I bought a Kel-tec PF9 3 years about and I totally bluelined it, lol!"

 

f1sh- to say you will go shooting and then back out last second, OR to say you can't go because of prior engagements

i.e. "Sorry guys, something came up at work and I'll have to f1sh out of this one. Maybe next time"

i.e. "Too bad this isn't next weekend gentlemen, gonna have to f1sh this event"

But I'm wondering, since this is a big day, why don't we put it in Saturday? The first shootout was on Saturday and I was able to go to other places and go home late. On Sundays you have to go home earlier and have a good rest before another week of tiring work hits you.
