New bill to require police to inspect your house for nj gun purchase

Recommended Posts

If you read the article they want you to go thru the same psych that the PD goes thru. I have done it it takes a couple of hours, how much do you think that will add to the permit cost.

^This.

Two hours of off the wall question.

Yeah, this bill will go through

As a matter of entertainment, is there a record for the most # of Constitutional amendments violated by a single proposed bill?

I'm thinking the record would be held by an elected official in Hudson or southeast Bergen County for sure.

Surely her background as a broken bone photographer has provided her with the legal knowledge and accuity to craft new laws that impact millions.

I'm glad Assemblywoman Jimenez took time off her day job to write this garbage.

Given how much garbage comes out of these Politicians, I think we should have a psych evaluation of every one of these on national TV.

Should include ALL relatives of these people published, 4 generations out.

After all, we are trusting these people with power, tax money and national security secrets, right ?

Out of curiosity....for those that have been through it.. What consists of a psych evaluation?

Haven't been through it yet but have gotten a lot of feedback because I was told I may have one around the corner for pre-employment.

Lots of questions ranging from normal to off the wall. "Would you rather have sex or do paperwork?"

Coupled with things like: "Draw a picture of your family"

They will also ask you the same question 5 different ways throughout the exam.

It can take anywhere from 15-30 min to 2 hours. Usually if you're on the high end of that range, it's a bad thing. Although, I have heard some agencies will make it 2 hours no matter how "even keeled" you seem.

They ask you questions like if you love your mother 8 or 10 different ways, worded differently each time, and then they throw in a few zingers like if you flew 50,000 miles over the Atlantic last year. Usually the person giving the psych eval is more messed up than the person taking it. They become a product of their environment after time.

There is a reason why the assembly has committees. No one wants to waste the legislature's time passing laws that are guaranteed to be struck down in the courts. Trust the system and assume this bill is going nowhere. It's just noise.

Now, if it gets out of committee and onto the floor, then we go apeshit.

I have taken that test. After having to answer questions like "would you rather commit rape or watch child porn?", your head spins for hours.

If you answer any of the questions about your background, ie "have you ever been in a fist fight" yes, you get grilled in the interview portion in an attempt to push you over the edge.

This bill needs to die a fast death and never see the light of day again.

Inspect my house? For what?

Location and type of storage i would assume...While NJ doesn't have it's own version of the 2nd, the Assembly apparently has NO Qualms about violsting that portion of the state Constitution that DOES coincide with the USC

What kind of question is that? Would they appreciate the response of kiss my ass?

The LEO that does all the gun permits and FID's in my town is a friend and has been to my house many times, he's always welcome here, so are his wife and kids. :)

Exactly. There was a set of questions that were basically no win situations. The group of us that took the test could not believe some of the stuff they asked.

Friends or not, I'm not in favor of any home inspection. Precedence is a very dangerous thing to set in some cases. There is no reason to need a home inspection to exercise a constitutional right.
