Bully 749 Posted January 13, 2013 Did you research and choose this one, or was it an aesthetics decision? He had a thread on 1911's. Lecky, good on you! I love my Kimber. Great gun that eats anything, even my reloads. C
Lecky 1 Posted January 14, 2013 Did you research and choose this one, or was it an aesthetics decision? I did do my research but as anything you are purchasing your going to get a ton of different opinions positive and negative, I was hoping to get some reviews and opinions from experienced gun owners being that this was my first handgun purchase, and I appreciate all the advice that I was given. While living in new York I had a Glock 19 that was given to me by my brother and when I moved I transferred it back to him, Obviously the difference between these two guns are night and day, I have no experience with a 1911, so there's that little bit of excited, nervous apprehension. fatty 241 Posted January 14, 2013 Lecky how much did you pay for it? I'm in the market for a 1911 myself and it's between this kimber or a springfield armory
BoscoB 0 Posted January 14, 2013 I own a custom II. I have never had one issue with over 2500 rds down the pipe. I have shot reloads, hollow pts, and regular ole ball ammo. My sugguestion is take it apart and oil it up before shooting. Also pick up some magazines, the Kimber OEM mag is udder garbage in my opinion. I have kimber pro mags, wilson combat, and nighthawk mags which the Kimber cycles no problem with. Good Luck and Enjoy! BOSCOB
Blake 50 Posted January 14, 2013 I have a custom II that i got off a forum member. Have about 400 rds through it and i love the thing. Havent had a single issue, and ive shot everything from tula steel case, aguila, umc, to federal hst hollow points. Biggest problem is replacing the ammo i put thru it lol. tony357 386 Posted January 14, 2013 Thats is a nice model from kimber, did you get the stainless or kimpro finish?
RS1200XL 4 Posted January 14, 2013 That's about what I paid for my Custom II Eclipse. I love mine and have no issues with the gun. With the stock mag there is occasionally a hiccup loading the first round. But that is why I use Wilson mags; never had an issue with them.
Quikshot 0 Posted January 15, 2013 another +1 for kimber besides the occasional .45 casing to the forehead
