Mr.Stu 1,916 Posted October 30, 2014 O.K. - My Re-Done 2001 Springfield 1911 Loaded V-12: How does the front sight work out being that color? I would imagine it is a bit tricky to pick up visually. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk

JT Custom Guns 956 Posted November 12, 2014 How does the front sight work out being that color? I would imagine it is a bit tricky to pick up visually. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2 The gold front sight was actually colored in just after the photos were taken. I wasn't in a rush because the gun was being retired, so now it is just for show........ Stu - you're assuming that he's going to shoot it. Actually, that gun is retired, so Bob is correct........ lol
jermz1987 243 Posted November 13, 2014 Jack did you get the inspiration for that 1911 from the movie Face Off? Reminds me of Nicolas Cages 1911. Awesome.
JT Custom Guns 956 Posted November 13, 2014 Yes - I always wanted one as a show piece, and when I switched out to another HG to shoot regularly, this was the perfect opportunity to do the project.

svt3183 14 Posted November 26, 2014 Better than the horrible pic I posted of my Trojan. Love the full dust cover on the range master. My STI is a tack driver and if bet yours is too. Thanks. Phone pic turned out blurry though.

You got a good deal on that Trojan having them add tool less guide rod and fiber Dawson precision fiber optic sights. Dust cover is personal choice, I like the old look as well. Makes the front end heavy though with the bull barrel and full dust cover.
svt3183 14 Posted November 27, 2014 Yeah plus my FFL doesn't charge tax....shhhh. STI definitely hooked me up too. What mags do you use? I got a Wilson combat but haven't ran with it yet. Psalm23 0 Posted November 27, 2014 I've heard good results from people using Wilson combat but have not used them personally. I use the Tripp research cobra mags and has met my expectations. Needs minor adjustments from time to time but over all performed very well. VZ grips is having a sale right now and makes huge difference on the grip incase you are interested.
