Njsarge 11 Posted January 21, 2013 Anyone use this? I picked some up to clean my rifle, shotgun and pistols. Can this be used on polymer frames? Read mostly good reviews on it.
Piranha21 0 Posted January 21, 2013 I use it on all my stuff. Works fine on polymer. But a little goes a very long way
jrfly3006 42 Posted January 21, 2013 Been using it since the military...used it on tank breech blocks, M9, M2 .50 cal, M240 MG, now all my personal guns.. In other words it works great on everything
usnmars 136 Posted January 21, 2013 I used it in the military and can say that any product that claims to do it all, does it all but not the best.
matty 810 Posted January 21, 2013 I use it for quick cleaning, & lube. I also use various bore cleaners and greases, it's not the only thing I use
Scrap 4 Posted January 23, 2013 Pretty much the gold standard for all around gun use. I have a thing for using Hoppes stuff, Rem cleaning spray and dry lube spray (And Rem Oil / Rem Oil Wipes), and Breakfree CLP. With those you can do just about anything and sometimes you only need one and not all the others, sometimes you need a major cleaning sometimes a touch up etc. Breakfree CLP is very very good to go. GRIZ 3,369 Posted January 23, 2013 I've used it for a lubricant/protectorant for about 25 yrs. Hoppes is a better cleaner. The only other lube I use is Mobil 1 grease on Garands.
NJdiverTony 27 Posted January 23, 2013 I use it and for me it works great. I usually use it for cleaning purposes as I find that it removes carbon very easily along with a cleaning brush. I then wipe everything down and will use M-Pro 7 gun oil for lubing parts and use slide grease for my pistol slides. I have also used it for cleaning and lubing at times, but I do like M-Pro 7 better for lube purposes.
MandM 2 Posted January 23, 2013 In my humble opinion, Clenzoil is the champ... but it's gotten so expensive over the years that Break-free is my old standby.

222 3 Posted January 24, 2013 I use Hoppes to clean out everything that catches powder: receiver, chamber, bore, bolt. I let those sit as I use CLP to clean and lube all the parts that don't get as dirty: magazine, charging handle, hammer. Then I got back, wipe off all the stuff I used Hoppes on, and use CLP to clean/lube them again. Before I put the AR BCG back into the upper, I wipe Breakfree LP (like CLP, but no C) on the surfaces of the BCG that rub against each other: the bolt against the carrier, the carrier against the upper.
