Sen. Frank Lautenberg D-N.J. introduced legislation Tuesday that would make it illegal to manufacture or sell a magazine that contains more than 10rds

Recommended Posts

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) introduced legislation Tuesday that would make it illegal to manufacture or sell a magazine that contains more than 10 rounds.

Limits on high-capacity magazines have been frequently discussed in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., shooting, and limits on magazines was one of the proposals that President Barack Obama made last week.

The limit on magazines would renew an element of the assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004. Since then, it has become legal to produce and sell high-capacity magazines. Support for renewing the assault weapons ban has received tepid response, even in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

Lautenberg’s bill has sixteen cosponsors in the Senate, all Democrats. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.) has filed a companion bill in the House.

I think they should pass a law as to the term limits of the morbidly idiotic, self-serving, hypocritical and pathetic politicians that continue to infest our public buildings. I might trade magazine limits for term limits.

Well, when they're manufactured and sold they contain zero rounds, so there's nothing to worry about.

Booker is anti-gun also. Need Republican Senator

I agree a Republican senator might help our hobby, a little. Booker has made some comments that seem intelligent and not as much a gun grabber as the mummy.

Does this guy do anything but introduce gun bill after gun bill? Cmon man. Do something else. How do these assclowns get reelected?

So-called "social programs"... when the tax CONSUMERS outnumber the tax PAYERS, it's over.

There's a place for him.... it is called Purgatory...

He can't retire. There's no place that wants him... So he'll continue to haunt the Senate halls for all eternity apparantly...

Ok, but thats not whats happening. The tax consumers are not outnumbering the tax payers.

That doesn't answer how he gets reelected time after time.

In the state of NJ, the number of VOTING tax consumers DOES outnumber the VOTING tax payers. You might add low-information voters (the ones who always vote for the incumbent, or the ones who watch CNN), and there you have it.

Incorrect. Show me the numbers of the people on welfare or want not vs the working/taxpaying people.

It's not just about welfare. Social security. Obamacare. Unemployment. Disability. Medicare/Medicaid. People want stuff, and they don't want to pay for it. As Margaret Thatcher said, (I paraphrase) "socialism works great until you run out of other people's money."

There are more uninformed voters who think the "government pays" for all this stuff than there are those who actually pay for it. it's the only explanation. And if you think another explanation could be that people actually agree with Lautenberg's policies, please see previous sentences. Because it's the same people.

I still think it wouldn't hurt to keep sending him emails, letters and phone calls telling him that if he keeps sponsoring these bills that we will vote for someone else even Booker. Not that I voted for him in the first place but just to make a statement.

He keeps pushing the fact that he wants to leave on his own terms, and that Corey Booker can't just walk in and have his job. Let's just keep reminding him that if he continues pushing these bills that he won't have a choice and will be voted out.

I agree with you on the uninformed voters but the tax payers still outnumber the recipients.

Again- in case you didn't understand my whole point: voting tax consumers and low-information voters outnumber tax payers and high information voters. There's no other possible reason. And AGAIN- if dems outnumber repubs, it's for the exact same reasons I have already stated- these are all the same people.
