CageFighter 236 Posted January 25, 2013 I am considering adding a Trijicon RMR on top of my G19Gen4 slide along w/ suppressor sights. Any idea where I can locate a complete G4 slide assembly? I DONT wanna cut the original one. Has anyone done this previously? Ive seen this set up in afew mags and want to try it out. Since I wont be using my G19 in USPSA anymore, im free to do whatever with it.
Porthole 15 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm contemplating doing the same. Looking at these 3 suppliers http://www.landmprecisiongunworks.com/ http://www.bowietact....com/index.html http://www.onesourcetactical.com/ http://www.glockworx...s.aspx?CAT=3720 Besides milling your slide, Land precision looks like they will be offering modified replacement slide from http://www.unitytact...cts/atom-mount/ Bowie tactical mills your slide and One Source offers pre-milled and or sight installed slides, but their site does not list the Gen 4's yet. I'd really like to see one installed, thinking this may really help the aging eyes.
gunguy1960 2 Posted January 25, 2013 I have an article or two on this I will dig out, I considered this for my XD, but it was costly and the lens tended to get dirty quickly, but that might not be the case with a glock.

DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted January 25, 2013 Arggh, can't remember the name of the company, but one of the issues of Recoil magazine (before I stopped buying them) had an article on a "race" glock with an aftermarket slide pre-cut for optics and I don't remember as one of the ones mentioned above. I'll see if I can find the article.
CageFighter 236 Posted January 25, 2013 the last 2 issues of Recoil magazine has customized Glocks in them!
DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted January 25, 2013 the last 2 issues of Recoil magazine has customized Glocks in them! Do you have the magazines? If so, open them up and look for the Glock with the aftermarket, optic ready slide. IIRC it was an article detailing the setup of a pistol, shotgun and AR for 3 gun matches. CageFighter 236 Posted January 25, 2013 Got that mag!
DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted January 25, 2013 Found it. It's that issue, but not the 3 gun article, a later article on the "Zev Technologies Featherweight, Supermodel looks, Supreme Performance" starting on page 98. I was wrong, it's not an aftermarket slide, they make cuts to the stock slide: http://www.glockworx.com/Products.aspx?CAT=3720

jon.squared 0 Posted February 13, 2013 Alternative to new slide or milling your current slide...? http://strikeindustries.com/shop/index.php/pistol-enhancements/glock/rear-sight-mount-for-glockr-pistol.html
brizbane 1 Posted February 13, 2013 Last year I ordered a complete TSD slide with suppressor sights, Trij RMR optics, and a TSD barrel for my new G19/G4. These items came as a package deal from One Source Tactical and it is not cheap. I sold two nice handguns in order to afford this setup but it was well worth it. This is very high quality stuff. BTW, you need the suppressor sights in order to co witness with the optic. Without them, it would be difficult to quickly get on target with only the optic. Forgot to add: I believe that TSD will machine your stock Glock slide to accept the optic, and also add the supp sights.
Porthole 15 Posted February 13, 2013 One Source Tactical and it is not cheap. 7? Without them, it would be difficult to quickly get on target with only the optic. Why do you think this is different then using a similar optic on a rifle platform?

brizbane 1 Posted February 13, 2013 7? Why do you think this is different then using a similar optic on a rifle platform? I think it has to do with the fact that the optic is all the way out at arms length, and if the handgun is torqued even slightly, then you won't be able to pick up the red dot inside the optic very quickly. Using the sights momentarily helps to get them aligned with the red dot, then the dot is placed on the target. This is called co witnessing and with practice can be done very quickly. I hope this explanation helps, it is easier to actually just do it.
Forddsl96 0 Posted February 13, 2013 My dilemma.. If you wanna call it that... I like shooting my 19.. I dont wanna have it laid up for weeks if not a month or two maybe more.
