Trijicon RMR on G19 slide...

Recommended Posts

I am considering adding a Trijicon RMR on top of my G19Gen4 slide along w/ suppressor sights. Any idea where I can locate a complete G4 slide assembly? I DONT wanna cut the original one. Has anyone done this previously? Ive seen this set up in afew mags and want to try it out. Since I wont be using my G19 in USPSA anymore, im free to do whatever with it.

I'm contemplating doing the same.

Looking at these 3 suppliers

http://www.landmprecisiongunworks.com/

http://www.bowietact....com/index.html

http://www.onesourcetactical.com/

http://www.glockworx...s.aspx?CAT=3720

Besides milling your slide, Land precision looks like they will be offering modified replacement slide from http://www.unitytact...cts/atom-mount/

Bowie tactical mills your slide and One Source offers pre-milled and or sight installed slides, but their site does not list the Gen 4's yet.

I'd really like to see one installed, thinking this may really help the aging eyes.

Arggh, can't remember the name of the company, but one of the issues of Recoil magazine (before I stopped buying them) had an article on a "race" glock with an aftermarket slide pre-cut for optics and I don't remember as one of the ones mentioned above. I'll see if I can find the article.

Found it. It's that issue, but not the 3 gun article, a later article on the "Zev Technologies Featherweight, Supermodel looks, Supreme Performance" starting on page 98.

I was wrong, it's not an aftermarket slide, they make cuts to the stock slide:

Last year I ordered a complete TSD slide with suppressor sights, Trij RMR optics, and a TSD barrel for my new G19/G4. These items came as a package deal from One Source Tactical and it is not cheap. I sold two nice handguns in order to afford this setup but it was well worth it. This is very high quality stuff.

BTW, you need the suppressor sights in order to co witness with the optic. Without them, it would be difficult to quickly get on target with only the optic.

Forgot to add: I believe that TSD will machine your stock Glock slide to accept the optic, and also add the supp sights.

7? Why do you think this is different then using a similar optic on a rifle platform?

I think it has to do with the fact that the optic is all the way out at arms length, and if the handgun is torqued even slightly, then you won't be able to pick up the red dot inside the optic very quickly.

Using the sights momentarily helps to get them aligned with the red dot, then the dot is placed on the target. This is called co witnessing and with practice can be done very quickly.

I hope this explanation helps, it is easier to actually just do it.

My dilemma.. If you wanna call it that... I like shooting my 19.. I dont wanna have it laid up for weeks if not a month or two maybe more. So what I was hoping to do is get a new slide wich will ve shipped out to be milled and refinished and have the original slide to use will its out... Dunno if thats even possible being i haven't found a slide period for a gen 4 G19
