Optic for a Henry Survival?

Just looking for something to throw on it for shits an giggles. Can take on and off easy, quick zero and plink away. Rifle will soon be stored in my 5.11 72 hour pack, and the optic with it.

Like intercooler said, any of the red dots should work well.

 

The only problem you might have is with the mounting of it. Most red dots are being made for picatinny rails.

 

You will need to get an adapter.

Also I use the following bag when I want to leave my red dot on.

Put a rubber scope cap over the reciever end that takes the barrel to keep it clean.

Put everything else in stock and it works well for a range trip.

Sounds like an opportunity for using a good old fashioned gunsmith to fabricate and attach some sort of scout mount on the barrel. Something small enough to not interfere with iron sights or storage of the barrel if removed.

 

Before the aftermarket industry took off, a lot of gunsmithing was fabrication by individual smiths.
