How many people want to give up cigarettes or cigars??

Recommended Posts

to start id like to keep it under $150. willing to go more if you suggest something and its just plain better

im open to all flavors. ill try them all until i find what i like.

doesnt matter. i want the best bang for my buck.

id like to keep everything on the smaller side. some of the pictures here make it seem like these things can be quite large. id like to keep it in my pocket...

Do it right the first time, remember 150 bucks may sound like a few bucks out of your pocket, but most smokers will go though that in 3 weeks or less, just something to keep in the back of your mind while you look into this.

Whats your favorite Menthol either outright or self mixed if you do menthol?

Honestly my favorite menthol is some stuff that is sold at a kiosk in the Hamilton mall in mays landing.

Formula 51 menthol.

Everything else I've tried so far is too mellow. I like a big throat hit, but vapor and big flavor. I guess I'm still on the hunt for the best menthol. I hear good things about vapedudes's ice ice menthol.

This kit may fit the bill.

Go through the juices and find something that sounds good and had good reviews.

Haha I realized I forgot to post the link

http://www.madvapes.com/smok-tech-e-power-nova-kit.html

Is this kit better than the one I posted? Haven't ordered anything yet just looking for the best way to start off.

To be Like Nick and buy stuff, I ordered up both the regular menthol and the Ice Ice, 70/30 (p/v) mix, I'll let you know how it is when I get it..

Here is a nice battery. It is variable voltage and wattage.

http://www.madvapes.com/vision-variable-volt-mod-gun-metal.html

It offers two modes, rms and avg.

it fits most atomizers, so you could build a nice setup.

The best thing you could do is hop on a few of the sites that have been linked on this thread and see what you like.

Link something back here and we can all take a look.

I would recommend the same that Jdubss said, go variable voltage.

Even if its a vision spinner kit that mark posted. That is what I use and have used since say one. They are small enough to fit in your pocket, but don't pack enough power to run all day.

If you are looking around $150 for a complete setup I would recommend a higher end VV like the zmax or evic.

If anyone lives near the AC expressway there is a nice ship in tuckerton right outside LBI. Their prices are on par with online retailers, but they are a great group of guys. They set me up, and if they were closer I would deal with them weekly. The website is 9southvapes.com

They have a bunch of kits in stock, and they even have a juice bar.

They make all their own juice on site, and you can even drip flavors before buying.

You can get your hands on different setups before buying. I had to go there to get an idea what these actually looked like in real life lol.

Man, i was thinking about making the change, i have a lot of reading to do.... i didnt realize how complex the ecigs are in terms of which products are comparible to the real thing.... i dont mind shelling out the cash, it just has to be comparable... i smoke about a pack in 3 days, one on the way to work, one after i eat lunch, and one on the way home from work, and a couple in the evening... by no means am i a heavy smoker, but still i want something more healthier.

I am waiting for the manufacturers to get back into the office. They are close for Chinese New Years.

I would have to do a group buy of 10 kits. Last I was quoted it came to about $60 shipped for each evic.

5 kits are already spoken for, I will buy two, three spots would be open.

I have to dig through my emails and find the quote again.

They deal directly with PayPal, so that simplifies the payment.

I'm still working on details. The shipping time is usually around 7-10 days after ordering.

So where is this list of decent items that i should buy someone point me in the right direction please.

I'd suggest checking out www.volcanoecigs.com

They're a bit more expensive then some other kits out there, but the support you get from them alone is worth it. They've replaced multiple products for me without giving me a hard time if there's an issue.

I buy their liquid, but there is probably better and cheaper liquid out there. I just prefer to make it all one stop shopping. Oh... and 2 day delivery from hawaii for 8 bucks isn't bad either.

It is only the battery/ brain unit. You would need to add an atomizer, cartomizer or tank system.

The suggested retail on these is $139 they sent an email out saying we can't sell any lower.... ;) haha I guess they are mad that people are selling these cheaper.

How long do the batteries last on the vision spinner? I'm looking for the best bang for my buck. I'm sure I'll eventually buy others though. I just thought what I posted was nice since you get two batteries with it, and could get two different cartomizers. I may just bite the bullet and order this one though sice it gets pretty good reviews

I use a vivi nova tank. I think it cost me $12....

I really want to upgrade my setup very soon. I want to get this evic order setup.

I'm using a very basic setup right now. I have a 1300mah vision spinner, vivi nova tank with a 2.4 ohm atomizer head. I also have a ego passthrough with a carto setup. The cartos are more for dripping. I will usually add about 30 drops of liquid and let it absorb overnight. After a few drags it seems to start and dry out a little. I will end of dripping a drop or two every 3-5 puffs. It's kind of a pain in the ass if your on the move. I also have a bridgeless setup that allows you to drip the juice directly onto the coil... This allows you to try different flavors back to back... But I tend to get a burning taste.

The tank is by far the easier and best setup I have found. There are tanks that use punched cartomizers inside of them, and there are tanks that use wicks to draw the liquid into the coil. My vivi uses wicks and I've had a good exp so far.

There are genesis style tanks, and bottom coil tanks. Some tanks you can wrap your own coils, but u wouldn't recommend them to someone just starting. You have to ohm test your coil before use.

There is a lot of information out there, and many different setups.

I prefer a variable voltage and tank setup. Tank tops unscrew and you drip the liquid in and screw the tip back in. Some tanks have a full screw in the side, some require a needle bottle ($1.99) to add the fluid to the reservoir.

so if i get the evic with you and a vivi nova tank like yours i should be good to go when i get juice?

I don't think I would disgrace an evic with a vivi nova lol.

I would prob out a genesis style tank on it. I'll find some links to show you. A better tank runs around $30. The top level tanks run around $200 just for a comparison.

I smoked for 20 years, started when I was 14 and quit on August 7th 2012 at 21:15 during a commericial on T.V. I came into the house halfway through a butt on the porch, and decieded enough is enough. I threw the rest of the pack in the garbage and haven't looked back. It wasn't easy the first couple of days, but I manned up and stuck through it, and am now smoke free and a better man for it. DO NOT mistake quitting smoking and ecigs for being one in the same. You can't quit if you don't give it all up. Quitting smoking is an all or nothing endevor, and it takes a commitment.

I am not knocking anyone for using e-cigs as an alternative for smoking, but to anyone that is smoking and wants to quit, it is not an altenative. It is only a crutch to continue the habit. I never thought I would quit, and I loved smoking but life is funny. If anyone wants to know my strategy and motivation for quitting pm me, I will be glad to share it.

sorry to offend. as you can tell, i dont know shit about this stuff... i dont think i need a $200 tank. but i do want something that i wont "outgrow" in a matter of months.

No offense taken lol. I just don't think the performance of a vivi would be well suited to a higher end battery like an evic or a zmax. I sometimes get liquid in my mouth from the basic design that doesn't guarantees a perfect seal between the top cap and coil cone.

The Texas tank would probably be well suited for an evic or similar battery.

Any tank over $20 would be an improvement.

I'm still looking for a suitable link.

Congrats man!!

I always tell people that I'm using an ecig not to quit... But as a healthier alternative.

Nicotine on its own is no worse than caffeine. It is simply a natural stimulant similar to caffeine. You can absorb nicotine from wet tobacco leaves. It used to be a big problem years ago, people picking wet tobacco leaves without gloves on. They wouldn get an overdose of nicotine and actually get sick.

I was tired of the smell and the cost of smoking. I was rolling my own with a top T-2 machine prior to vaping. I was down to $.85 a pack, but couldn't take the smell.

I will say this isn't a quit smoking technique that I can say will help you.

The only way to really quit for good is cold turkey.

But I will say this has allowed me to break the habit of taking a smoke break.

I keep my vape in my pocket, I find myself puffing away every few minutes.

I don't allow myself to get a craving. I surpress my nicotine desires before they become a craving.

It had allowed me to stop smoking, but I still get to enjoy my nicotine. It is actually much more satisfying to vape than it was to smoke. I can vape in the movie theaters, bars/some restaurants, casinos, shopping malls, inside my job.... I hated smoking in my brand new truck... Now I don't have to.
